Geo Textiles
COIR also known as COCOS, is a versatile natural golden fibre extracted from the protective husk of coconuts. This golden fibre is spun into a wide range of textured yarns and woven into a wealth of colorful floor coverings. The coir industry is a traditional Indian cottage craft, particularly centered in the state of Kerala. GEOTEXTILES are loosely woven coir fabrics with open grids forming the entire lengths of the fabrics.Geo textiles have literally changed the concept of soil management and indeed become a boom in the Civil Engineering field. The functions basically are :erosion control,separation and filtration/drainage.

Coir is a 100% organic fibre, from the coconut husk .Naturally resistant to rot, moulds and moisture,it needs no chemical treatment. Product Range

Coir geo textiles densities varying from 400gm to 1400gm/sq.m. A higher density means a tighter mesh and less open area in the netting.The following mesh mats are commonly used weaved in VYCOM coir.

H2M6 - 400gm,
H2M2 - 700gm,
H2M5 - 740gm,
H2M9 - 900gm.

Coir Logs or Coir Rolls
Coir logs or vegetation fascines are strong, flexible construction modules of a compact roll of coir web covered by an exterior coir mesh netting,which aids in the stabilization and re vegetation of sites where steepness or high exposure to waves or currents causes instability. Their configuration and density help them to maintain form without losing material. They also promote plant growth and microbial activity. In flowing water areas they facilitate new channel alignment. In standing water they initiate sedimentation, facilitate vegetation and dissipate induced wave energy. Geo rolls collect and hold mineral and organic particles, provide a physically stable substrate for root growth and gradually bio-degrade to leave a self-sustaining erosion control system .Mainly used in Stream bank protection and in agriculture purposes.

Material composition
The interior of the geo roll consists of 100% coir fibre webs cross lapped or air layered, followed by needle punching or stitch bonding.The fibre density greater than or equal to 1000gsm and widths of 220mm to 600mm. The substrate is then rolled into desired diameters.
